A group looking at how to make health care prices more transparent will consider potential recommendations when it holds its final meeting in Helena on March 21.
The subcommittee of legislators and interested parties was formed to make recommendations to the Children, Families, Health, and Human Services Interim Committee on a study of price transparency. The study was requested by the Legislature through passage of House Joint Resolution 20 in 2017.
The subcommittee will review transparency legislation approved by the Colorado Legislature in past years, talk about so-called "surprise bills" that occur when people receive health care services from a provider who is not in their insurance network, and review a preliminary plan by Montana health care groups for a system to share health records.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Room 102 of the Capitol in Helena. It will be live streamed at http://leg.mt.gov and will be broadcast on Television Montana (TVMT). Check local channel listings to find TVMT in your area.
