The Legislative Oversight Committee on Montana-ARCO litigation is made up of two Senators and two Representatives, appointed by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House, respectively.
This Committee is required to meet quarterly to be briefed on the progress of the litigation and negotiations between the State of Montana and Atlantic-Richfield Corporation regarding natural resource damage in the Clark Fork River Basin. The Committee is also required to consider plans for the appropriate use of any money received by the state as a result of the litigation.
